Prior to printing any RFID or other tags, a tag layout configuration must be configured.

Typically this is done during setup but users may need to reconfigure tags due to additional warehouses coming online, new printers being added to the enterprise or for various other reasons.

Tag Layout can be accessed via the Configuration Cog in the HME360 Baseline menu.

Configuration>Select Supplier>Tag Layout Configuration

The HME360 Main Menu

On this screen, the tag layout can be customized to alter the look of the tag, the size of the tag, the barcode configuration (what is reflected as a barcode) or any other items that are key for the supplier to show on the barcode.

Key Configuration items are:

Location: What warehouse or location is this printer generating tags for? If you have a centralized printer and are printing tags for distribution to other locations, please select the appropriate location/warehouse prior to printing tags.

Printer Configuration: Select your Tag Size and DPI (Zebra ZD500R’s are 203 DPI and the Zebra ZT411 RFID On Metal Printer can be either 203 or 300 at 8 dots per mm and 112 dots per mm respectively). The Tag Offset (Top & Left) can be manually adjusted as needed for print alignment.

Tag Configuration:

Barcode type: Can either be linear or datamatrix.
Barcode Data Field: The key item data element the user wants reflected on the tag for barcode scanning. Selecting RFID/SN as a barcode allows the barcode to be scanned by a barcode scanner or the camera in the mobile app so a SN/RFID can be tracked when a RFID reader is nonavailable. It is very typical in DME for this to be Serial number. If an item is not serialized and serial number is selected for the product or if RFID is selected and the product is not RFID enabled, then the product code barcode will be printed.
Logo Type: Can be default or custom, if custom only text (limit of 8 characters) can be displayed on the tag itself.

Tag Elements:

Tag Elements are the key data items that can be enabled to be reflected on the tags themselves.
